North London YMCA is focused on helping disadvantaged young homeless people aged 16-35 make a successful transition to independence. We have a holistic approach to addressing young people's needs and offer integrated access to affordable accommodation, training, personal development, guidance and job search facilities. We are one of the largest providers of accommodation for this group in Haringey providing temporary housing for over 150 young people. We receive Housing Related Support funding for 55 people including 30 foyer bed spaces
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic intern to assist the Executive Support Manager in the busy administration and human resources functions.
This internship is a great opportunity to develop your existing skills and to gain new ones in Administration and Human Resources.
What we are looking for
You need to have good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills although full training can be given for any technical requirements. Also someone who has:
> Good levels of numeracy and literacy
> Demonstrable interest in the work of NLYMCA
> Highly organised
> Computer literate
> Fluent written & spoken business level English
> Flexible and able to prioritise workload
> Willing to commit to join us for 3-5 days a week for up to 26 weeks
Additional qualities which would be useful
> Experience of office work
> Experience in or an interest in Human Resources
> Experience of working for a charity in a paid or voluntary capacity
